Riverside Yoga and Massage is a yoga and wellness studio in the heart of Newburyport, MA. The studio was started by husband and wife Rebecca Sisson (RYT) and James Murphy (LMT) in 2014. Riverside is the product of pure passion and dedication for the practices of yoga, bodywork, and wellness. Our dream is to create a destination and sanctuary for mind, body and spiritual well-being, and to share our passion with others. We pride ourselves on being a boutique yoga and wellness studio. We get to know each and every one of our clients, and yoga class sizes are kept small so we can help each practitioner develop an individualized practice that is appropriate for their body's needs.


We offer primarily vinyasa style yoga classes based on the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. We take a contemporary approach to the traditional practice introducing a variety of postures and creative sequencing, while maintaining the classical foundations of the practice. The practice is deeply rooted in anatomy and alignment, encouraging safe exploration of the poses. We offer classes for students of all levels, from those who are stepping onto a mat for the very first time, to seasoned yogis. We also offer Ashtanga Yoga classes, adhering to the traditional sequence and methodology.


Our team of massage therapists offer a variety of massage services and bodywork techniques, including deep tissue, myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, therapeutic/relaxation and sports massage. Every client comes with unique needs, so every massage is different. Our therapists will work with you to discover your individual needs and use a combination of techniques most beneficial for you.

Holistic Nutrition Coaching

Our coaches take a holistic approach to health and wellness, looking at how all areas of your life are connected, and how they affect your health as a whole. Riverside's coaches will work with you to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. You'll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health. Our coaches specialize in holistic nutrition and integrative nutrition.
